In depth

Verdict

Another race slightly richer on quantity rather than quality but with half the field officially rated within 5lb of each other it should provide a competitive heat nonetheless. The drop back in trip should be more to the liking of Richie's Delight and the booking of 7lb claimer Lee Barber takes the emphasis off his status as topweight. More worrying aspects for his supporters would be his long losing run, that stretches back over two years, and his apparent preference for a right-handed course that make him an unappealing proposition today. The lightly raced Colline de Feu on the other hand makes plenty of appeal as an improving type, and comes into the race with strong claims if running to her Uttoxeter form of two weeks ago. The assessor appears to have given her a chance here and she looks primed for a bold show again. And although an unoriginal choice, she is the TEAMtalk selection. Compton Amica is another who is bidding to end a frustratingly barren spell but is 8lb higher than her best winning mark. Louises Glory is another who could go well judged on the pick of his Irish form and is worthy of support for a place if the price is right on only his second start for his current yard. Fionnula's Rainbow is attractively handicapped on the best of her efforts and is game enough to figure prominently if she is in the mood. However, she did suffer from a stress fracture early in her career and has tended to put in her best performances when returning from a break. Lapland is another who should find a race in time is another to consider for a place if the bookmakers overreact to Colline de Feu.
