towards rear, ridden over 2f out, stayed on, never a danger
led, ridden and headed 2f out, faded inside final furlong
towards rear, ridden 3f out, no impression
slowly into stride, always well behind and tailed off
tracked leaders, ridden 2f out, chased winner over 1f, no impression
mid-division, ridden over 3f, soon beaten
with leaders, led 2f out, headed over 1f out, soon one paced
soon tracking leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
in touch, ridden and headway to lead over 1f out, driven clear
in touch, until driven and lost place over 3f out
Although the drop back in trip may not be ideal for Springalong, he has already shown enough to suggest that a race of this nature is his for the taking. The Henry Cecil-trained colt is just preferred over Little Venice and Zouche, the exposed Taggerty appeals a as the best of the rest. Springalong, a half-brother to Distant View, came up against a couple of useful rivals at Lingfield last time and that form could prove to be a good guide in time. He should appreciate the predicted going more than Little Venice and can go on to better things from here. Taggerty has already had plenty of chances and will probably find at lest a couple too good again here. The rest do not look to be anything out of the ordinary but are worth monitoring for an each way move, in a race that looks to be there for the taking for Springalong.
