Verdict

Although the drop back in trip may not be ideal for Springalong, he has already shown enough to suggest that a race of this nature is his for the taking. The Henry Cecil-trained colt is just preferred over Little Venice and Zouche, the exposed Taggerty appeals a as the best of the rest. Springalong, a half-brother to Distant View, came up against a couple of useful rivals at Lingfield last time and that form could prove to be a good guide in time. He should appreciate the predicted going more than Little Venice and can go on to better things from here. Taggerty has already had plenty of chances and will probably find at lest a couple too good again here. The rest do not look to be anything out of the ordinary but are worth monitoring for an each way move, in a race that looks to be there for the taking for Springalong.
