Verdict

The Red Laird scraped home at Plumpton nine days ago but now carries a 7lb penalty. He's lightly-raced for his age, however, and has won over course and distance on soft ground previously. Priest Island was sent off favourite on his handicap debut at Fontwell but was beaten when falling two out. The longer trip should help and he can't be ignored while Plumpton third Gilded Age has fallen to a very lenient mark and Killimore Cottage rattled up a hat-trick before only finishing fourth at Lingfield last time - the handicapper may have his measure now however. HE'S THE DADDY has had just the four starts under Rules so far and appreciated the step up in distance when fifth at Huntingdon last time. This may be his chance to get off the mark.
