In depth

Formwatch

Bramblehill Duke (IRE) Real mudlark who won over course and distance last month (jockey banned for excessive use of whip). Finished well-ahead of Better Offer when sixth in a good race at Cheltenham recently, and must have a decent chance of returning to the winner's enclosure here.

Superior Risk (IRE) Veteran chaser who won easily in a weaker affair at Plumpton. Clearly in good heart, and will also relish the ground, but appears to have been harshly punished by the handicapper and is not likely to improve enough to win again in this harder race.

Better Offer (IRE) Needs better ground to show his best form, and well held on latest start.

Gun'n Roses II (FR) Won well for new yard at Chepstow over Christmas, but subsequently pulled up when odds-on at Taunton. Front-runner who may not have things his own way, but still has a chance if that last run can be excused.

B The One Shot up the weights having won a couple of moderate races towards the end of last year, but ran really well when third to Jungli at Doncaster. Was run off his feet that day, and this is an easier race so with an extra-half mile to run he looks the one they have to beat here.
