Cut in the ground and seven furlongs is a ideal scenario for Mick Is Back and we take him to make it three wins from four starts here, with Doyles Lodge, Fuschia and Pickering the three strongest in opposition. The selection took a soft ground Leicester claimer in May over this trip before going close at Chepstow and then coming good again over a mile at Newmarket last time. He rarely runs a bad race and he can take this off his current mark. Henry Candy-trained Doyles Lodge put up an improved showing on fast ground last time but has still to prove he is at home with cut in the ground and will have to wait for another day. Fuschia is another who needs to show us she can handle the going but if she does then the form of her Nottingham run last time has not worked out badly and she can get involved. Pickering is worth another try on this ground but cannt be supported with confidence until proven on it and Mick Is Back is the one for us.
