The vote here goes to Spice Route ahead of Tranquil Tiger and Halicarnassus. Official ratings point us to Halicarnassus, Spice Route and Tranquil Tiger. The selection found himself forced to race wide when fifth at Royal Ascot last time but it was still a good effort to finish fifth in a good King Edward VII Stakes. He can go well today. Tranquil Tiger also ran well at Royal Ascot, finishing fifth in the Hampton Court Stakes. He is well up to winning at today's level and can go well, although it will be interesting to see how he copes with the step up to 12 furlongs. Halicarnassus has already won at Listed level, for which he carries a penalty for what was a win in a three-runner affair and, having been outclassed in the French Derby last time, this is more his level. Of the others, Duke Of Tuscany was seventh in the Hampton Court and Wing Express is an interesting maiden winner but, for the selection, we are happy to side with Spice Route.
