Look To This Day can complete a good day for Roger Charlton and Steve Drowne in the finale; dangers include E Major and Seventh Cavalary. The selection made a highly encouraging debut in a Goodwood maiden over nine furlongs that is working out well. The yard's runners usually find considerable improvement from their debuts whilst, as a daughter of In The Wings, she can be expected to improve for the softer ground and this step up in trip. The form of those around her in the race certainly suggest that she won't have to improve significantly on that form to get the better of E Major and Seventh Cavalry who have both been allotted ratings in the low eighties. The very fact that their trainers have targeted this race indicates that they are flattered by their marks, or at the very least will struggle in handicaps, and there's enough strength in depth in this race to take the pair on. Moon Sister is rated only marginally inferior and she ran a fine race in a Newbury handicap last time despite racing too keenly for her own good; the form looks solid and she should be in the mix. Civitas Filius is another to have shown promise and the Simcock string are in good form whilst Fortune City and Interchange both look the part on paper and are well worth a second look in the ring. An unusually interesting race of its type and one that could be worth watching with one eye on the future given the yards that are represented but as far as our immediate concerns are concerned we just need to Look To This Day.
