Sea Admiral has finally grasped what's required of him and could find it plain sailing in this company. Roger Charlton's gelding looked a likely type for middle distance handicaps on the evidence of his three runs in maidens but failed to deliver on that promise on his first three starts amongst the rank and file but he hasn't looked back since connections slapped a pair of blinkers on him. His two wins have come at Brighton but there's no reason to suppose that he won't handle a more conventional track and there was a lot to like about his attitude when he won his penultimate start by a nose. This field doesn't look any better than the one he routed last time and he should have little trouble completing his treble as he steps back up in trip. Mith Hill ran well in a Haydock handicap won by Bukit Tinggi last time and is feasibly treated on the pick of his form so is not without claims whilst Vincenzio will fancy his chances of giving the selection more to do with a 6lb swing for 5 lengths in his favour. Corum looks up against it and Keelung didn't show anywhere near enough on his first run since 2006 to be considered which only leaves Merrymaker who is a pretty consistent sort but one who is thoroughly exposed and without a win on grass for nigh on two years. This appears to have been a shrewd bit of placing by Roger Charlton and Sea Admiral can provide Steve Drowne with a modicum of compensation for missing out on Newmarket.
