In depth

Verdict

Winning doesn't come easy to many of these with quantity rather than quality being the order of the nightcap. Anemos is one horse that is in good order and is at the right end of the handicap. Paul D'Arcy's charge has been stepped up significantly in trip today but with a number of fairly inauspicious efforts clouding his past form over the trip, our enthusiasm is somewhat muted. Commodini hails from a yard who are sending out winners but is watched until Peter Harris has figured out an ideal trip. Nakwa and Antony Ebeneezer reaffirm battle after meeting each other on the sand at Southwell. Both are exposed on turf and have plenty to prove. Red Storm is in good heart at the moment and an in- form jockey is booked. She is yet to prove that she stays eleven furlongs and is opposed. Our recommendation is Brave Dane. John Spearing sent out a winner recently over the sticks and this son of Danehill does at least have a modicom of form over the trip. The horse has dropped 15lbs in the handicap since making his British debut and with Steve Carson booked, a good run for our money at decent odds is anticipated.
