Preference for this race looks to be with the three-year-olds who seem much more open to progression than their elders. High Finance is likely to be popular after a couple of fair efforts at the track over the winter but there is still a nagging doubt as to whether he truly stays a mile so it may pay to look elsewhere. Raoul Duffy didn't look to stay the extended mile at Wolverhampton but he is likely to appreciate the mile at Lingfield and if he manages to transfer any of the ability to the surface, he will be difficult to beat. Neil Graham's Spinning Dove is boxed between the pair. His ammunition is clearly not as it was and on breeding it could be argued that a mile is not particularly likely to suit. Welcome Signal's predominantly American profile suggests that she will handle the equitrack at Lingfield. She was only seen out once as a two-year-old and connections would not have kept her in training if they didn't possess plans. We will take our chances with the in-form combination of Andrew Balding and Martin Dwyer on this occasion. Although Fleeting Moon was significantly cheaper than a number of her rivals, there have been encouraging reports about her progress on the gallops and she would not have to be anything out of the ordinary to land this prize.
