This is a drop in class for Danzigs Grandchild but he may have to settle for minor honours behind HIGHLIFE DANCER. Mick Channon's Imperial Dancer colt is bred to stay a mile and a half but there's enough speed in his pedigree to suggest that this trip will prove ideal at such an early stage in his career, with his dam related to an Ayr Gold Cup winning horse. That proved to be the case as he showed abundant speed on debut, before giving best to a pair of rivals with experience. He's landed the plot draw and the yard's runners are ticking over nicely, so everything looks in place for a big run. Stan Moore's Danzigs Grandchild stepped up massively on his debut when fifth in a warm race last time and, as this is easier, any improvement will see him go close with conditions ideal. Knox Overstreet has shown signs of ability but not to the extent that he's advertised his immaturity and we're inclined to keep an eye on him with regard to his future rather than select him to win this, Diamond Penny may prove to be a slow-burner so is opposable despite being related to plenty of winners whilst Sky Falcon was very green on debut and didn't show much, albeit in a race that has worked out. Degly Bo stayed on when his chance had gone at Lingfield and this expensive purchase will need to improve for switching to turf, Captain Sharpe was behind a subsequent Group Two winner on debut but in truth wasn't in the same league as that horse and Ocean Drift didn't show anything at Windsor despite attracting some support, suggesting he was fit enough to run well. Plenty of these need to improve enormously and while that's possible, we're keen to side with the one who showed most on debut and that horse is Highlife Dancer.
