Astyanax, who bolted up on his handicap debut at Southwell last week, is impossible to oppose under a six pound penalty, while Cadwallader, Lowe Go and Ambrosine look to be best of the rest. The selection has a typical profile of a horse trained by Sir Mark Prescott, in that he stepped up significantly in trip for his handicap debut, and despite being pushed along in the early stages stayed on extremely well to win by ten lengths. Although he will be a short price here, if he proves to be just as effective on turf he would be impossible to oppose. Lowe Go had some fair efforts in nurseries last season and will prefer this ground to when he finished down the field at Windsor last time, so could go well at a decent price. Cadwallader represents the bang in form Mark Johnston stable and merits the utmost respect on his handicap debut, a mark which also applies to Amanda Perrett's Ambrosine, who will appreciate the extra two furlongs having shaped well enough on her reappearance at Newbury.
