Verdict

Geoff Woodruff's EVENING BELL went off at long odds for her debut here last month and though unable to hold the odds-on Lady Lexington it was a race full of promise and she can get off the mark. Sea Venture had a couple of these behind when a close third to Princess Lomita at Turffontein after a very good run on this track so she's an obvious threat. Magic's First should get into the frame as her latest effort when a close third to African Daisy at Turffontein was her first run for three months. Ever Fair was behind in that latter contest but her earlier run here puts her in with a shout.
