Verdict

We finish with a tricky handicap hurdle but the vote goes to MEGA WATT ahead of Shipboard Romance and General Smith. Venetia William's charge is still to get his head in front over hurdles but the useful ex flat horse hasn't had his ground to be fair. In all of his races he has travelled nicely but failed to pick up. Todays quicker conditions should really help the son of Acclamation use his turn of foot and he can hopefully go close. Shipboard Romance sprung a little surprise when winning two weeks ago. Now she has got her head in front she may well go in again. She travelled nicely and quickened away when asked. She beat the old but admirable General Smith that day and they now meet again on similar terms. However, the latter may now reverse the form as he was left in front along way from home the last day. He travelled well and if the younger generation fail to fire today this consistent sort will pick up the pieces. Previews by Declan Rix
