Verdict

Mcgowan's Pass is a 12-year-old on a long losing run but he was in decent form in the spring. Captain Tom Cat is rated much higher over fences and is certainly no slouch over the smaller obstacles but the five-year-old MOTHILL looks the one to be on as the form of his latest second at Fontwell has been franked. Shallow River was only beaten half-a-length by the in-form Kihavah at Market Rasen while Blue Shark has only been beaten once in his last seven starts. Salley Gardens also has a squeak but Montgomery makes his handicap debut in a competitive affair for the time of year.
