Gats And Co has been a little below par so far this year but NO NO MAESTRO ran a nice race on his reappearance at Worcester. That will have blown away a few cobwebs and the course winner can go one better this evening as long as the ground doesn’t deteriorate further. Pottlerath is on a roll and, though still creeping up the weights, looks a threat but Fairlawn Flyer is hard to predict and best at Ffos Las. Biowavego is conceding weight all round but should make a chaser and has most scope of these.
Biowavego (IRE) 7-2 (11-6) Prominent, not fluent 3rd, ridden before 4 out, outpaced 3 out, rallied into 5 lengths 2nd 2 out, closed last, led flat, stayed on, won at Warwick 3m 1f hcp (4) gf in May beating Kilfilum Woods (11-0) by 3l, 6 ran.
No No Maestro (IRE) 8-1 (11-11) Led, jumped slowly and headed briefly 2nd, pushed along turning in, ridden and headed approaching the last, stayed on same pace run-in, no chance with winner, 2nd of 9, 10l behind Wick Green (11-4) at Worcester 2m 7f hcp (4) gd in May.
Gats And Co 3-1 (12-0) Led, ridden before 3 out, headed 2 out, no extra, 2nd of 4, 11l behind Jaytee (11-7) at Southwell 3m 2f hcp (4) gd in May.
Fairlawn Flyer 7-2 (11-10) Jumped right at times, chased leaders, led 7th, headed after 13th, outpaced 16th, behind 18th, pulled up before 4 out, at Ffos Las 3m 4f hcp (4) gd in May.
Rust To Riches (IRE) 16-1 (11-10) Towards rear and not fluent at times, no extra in 8th from 4 out and pulled up before 2 out, at Punchestown 3m hcp Good - Yielding in Jun.
Pottlerath (IRE) 8-11fav (11-2) Chased leader, slightly hampered by rival 3 out, soon pressed leader, travelling best when disputed lead 2 out, soon pushed along and led, 4 lengths clear approaching last where not fluent, pushed out run-in, not extended, won at Bangor-on-Dee 3m hcp (4) gd in Jun beating Dragon Rock (12-0) by 3 3/4l, 3 ran.
