Brightwell is given our nomination ahead of Red Scally and Nez Rouge. Bob Woodhouse's representative was an impressive winner of a point-to-point at Witton Castle three weeks ago and while that was over significantly further than this evening - the conditions are going to be very testing and stamina will be required in order to get home. Red Scally has the benefit of racing under rules and has given a decent impression during those two appearances. He is unproven on the surface but is nevertheless open to improvement. Nez Rouge is from a yard with a high strike rate in these contests. As a French bred, it is likely that he will handle the prevailing conditions and the market is watched for clues. Pass The Class finished in mid-division in a better race at Haydock Park. It will probably turn out that there were a number of decent performers there so from a form perspective, it is difficult to quantify what he showed on the day. Noued Vert makes a debut for the McCain stable. The Southport team went close with a similar type earlier in the week and it would be no surprise if he were good enough tonight. A tough race all things considered but Brightwell's ability to stay and his fitness between the flags look to be major positives in our final race on the card.
