De Blanc is taken to land this mares' only Listed contest from Motcombe, with Isellido, Lizzie Bathwick and Supreme Serenade all likely to make their presence felt. Just the eight runners have been declared for this ¿30,000 contest and on overall form we prefer the claims of De Blanc. The six-year-old has won three of her five outings over fences this year, but probably found the trip a bit on the short side when beaten by Bally Bolshoi at Exeter. Back over this sort of trip and still quite well treated compared to her hurdles form, she looks the one to beat. Motcombe can be a tricky ride but benefited from the Andy Thornton treatment at Wincanton recently, and has to be considered as she got the better of both De Blanc and Supreme Serenade at the west-country venue in November. Isellido was given a positive ride to land a qualifier for this at Kelso in January and has the assistance of Paul Carberry no less. She struggled to hump her big weight round Ayr last time and is better treated now so must have leading claims as well. Lizzie Bathwick was put back over timber to score at Taunton a month ago, and although she has more to do here, has a light enough weight and goes on the ground so is yet another to consider. Better claims are held by De Blanc though so she gets the vote.
