Stratford winner Persian Warrior ran better at the same venue having fallen at Newton Abbot in between those two outings and he has solid claims but it is hard to get away from VACARIO, who gets the vote with Hammer looking the pick of the remainder. The selection has shown improved form with each start this term and Charlie Mann's gelding, having missed a slightly more difficult engagement at Newton Abbot on Monday, should take plenty of beating in this company. Sue Smith's Private Affair has shown promise in bumpers but does need to improve over hurdles to get involved in the finish here. Tim Vaughan's Blush Tone has given little sign of encouragement so far, while Charlie Longsdon's Ormond Lad has yet to even be placed in eight starts either on the flat or over hurdles. Hammer showed ability on the level and could be of interest on his hurdling debut for Richard Phillips but Vacario has an obvious chance in this company and is hard to oppose.
