Verdict

Queen Poline is bound to be popular with backers following her defeat of Lets Go Girls at Haydock in November but Lucy Wadham's mare has a penalty to carry for that success and preference is for LITTLE LORD WEST, who gets the vote over Guydus. The last mentioned makes his debut today but Venetia Williams has her string in good form and the son of Old Vic is bred to be useful so he has to be respected. Barton Cliche, a son of Classic Cliche, could be of interest first time up, while Gild The Lillie makes less appeal on pedigree and is probably best watched. Mikeys Sister has to be considered with Tony Carroll's string in good heart but it is Little Lord West that gets the vote. Caroline Bailey's gelding made a pleasing debut when fourth behind Double Pride at Warwick and any improvement on that effort may well suffice.
