Owen's Sedge ran promisingly on his first start for Heather Dalton when finding just Truly Fruitful too good in a selling hurdle at Southwell and he has to be considered for this contest but more solid claims are held by IFFY, who gets the verdict ahead of Equity Release. The last mentioned is a rare runner in this grade for Philip Hobbs and he has solid claims having shown improved form in better quality races in his last two starts. The John Harris-trained Muntami has been well held in his last few outings and looks best watched with a bigger threat likely to come from High Standard. John Spearing's gelding was well held in a handicap at Huntingdon last time but earlier form in sellers at Uttoxeter and Southwell reads well and, back in this grade, he has solid claims. Michael Scudamore's Dark Energy has the beating of High Standard on running in that Huntingdon handicap and has to be respected dropped into selling grade. George Baker's runners in this grade always warrant respect and his runner, Mountain Beat, cannot be discounted on only his second start over hurdles but it is hard to get away from Iffy. The Andy Haynes-trained gelding has run to a consistent level of form in recent starts and a reproduction of those efforts may well suffice in this company.
