In depth

Verdict

Plenty of these arrive in top form including Elegant Dan, who beat Pat Coyne a length over the course and distance a week ago. The runner-up will be 4lb better off so there should be nothing between them. Moll Dote easily beat Escort'namix over the track and trip at the same meeting and the runner-up could give the form a boost earlier, though Declan Queally's mare is 12lb higher than her last handicap run. Knock On Steel scored over fences at Killarney but has won over timber and doesn't look badly treated, despite a big weight. INSANE BOLT had never raced beyond the minimum until scoring over 2m2f at Downpatrick. He's only four but looks a decent staying prospect and can complete a double. The returning Yaiza and three-times Flat winner Captain Courageous are others to note in an open handicap. Four Country Roads was engaged in the 6.15 at Cork yesterday.
