ASTURIENNE appeals as the right sort for these contests through the winter and may be able to score at the first time of asking over obstacles. Amie Magnificent has already shown a fair level of form whilst Knar Mardy represents a top yard. Alan King usually has a decent hand in these types of races and Asturienne showed enough in bumpers to think that she can be a factor in this contest. She wasn't disgraced on the third of her starts in that sphere when midfield in a Listed race and should make a hurdler. Amie Magnificent has won well the last twice but this is tougher and she has to concede a good bit of weight to the majority of the field so looks vulnerable. Bathwick Quest ran second in this race last year and her yard is in better form now than when she was last in action so she rates a look as does Shaylee who is entitled to improve for her debut. Penny Queen is another to keep an eye on whilst Knar Mardy may improve now hurdling but preference is for Asturienne.
