Verdict

SHACKLESBOROUGH may be able to scale greater heights than this in due course and can land the opener from the likes of Jau and The Donserelli. Paul Nicholls' runners at Wincanton must always be feared and this winning pointer has a one hundred per cent record under Rules having landed a Chepstow bumper in the spring. This trip should be fine and he could be a warm order. Jau is a half-brother to Sergeant Cecil and showed that he, too, had his share of ability when winning a bumper at the track on debut. There was no disgrace on his subsequent defeat and he's well worth a second look. The Donserelli showed a decent level of form in bumpers in the summer but looks to have something to find with a few of these and has his stamina to prove. Ffos Las Diamond has his first run for a new yard and has shown enough to be of interest if he can recapture his best form whilst Golden Dream showed ability between the flags in Ireland and is another to note. This may turn out to be quite competitive and the market will be useful but we'd expect it to be headed by Shacklesborough.
