ARDMADDY is taken to follow up from his recent success and defy a seven pound penalty at the expense of Woodlark Island and Midnight Spirit. The selection came good at Plumpton earlier in the week landing his trainer a hat-trick on that day. Connections are keen to get another run into him before the handicapper has a chance to reassess his rating and with young Joshua Moore claiming a valuable seven pounds he is sure to give his supporters another good run for their money. Woodlark Island landed back to back races at Wincanton and Fakenham last month and has not been discredited in two runs since. He can once again run well but the handicapper may have the measure of him for the time being. Midnight Spirit broke his maiden tag at the age ten at Chepstow last month and has run well in two races since and is another to add to the short list, however Ardmaddy has the best form on offer and gains the narrow vote.
