In depth

Verdict

With a clear round COOL TOUCH ought to land this novice hurdle with his head in his chest, while both Lygon Legend and Miss Mardy Pants will fight out the minor honours. The selection finished an eye catching second at Worcester last time out and has previous form to his name that reads well. This will be by far his easiest task to date and connections must be very confident that his maiden tag will be gone after this contest. Lygon Legend is only lightly raced and showed improved form after finishing a decent fourth of thirteen at Southwell last time out. His trainer Peter Hiatt does well at this venue so any market moves should be noted. No real case can be made for Miss Mardy Pants who has had a dreadful season in the point to point field this year. She is now in the hands of Charlie Morlock and improvement will be required. Cool Touch really should be winning this race and is difficult to oppose.
