In depth

Verdict

This is not a race that should take a great deal of winning and it my be worth chancing Oscar Jo, who unseated his rider at Taunton when last seen in March, and Tony Martin's gelding gets the verdict over Or Sing About and Castlemainevillage. The last mentioned has been running consistently well in similarly poor contests of late and should again be thereabouts but he is creeping up in the weights and may be booked for a place at best. David Pipe's Herne Bay has been given a chance by the handicapper but is hard to back with confidence on recent form, while Cee Cee Rider was in the process of running a better race at Aintree last time before falling three out and may now be best watched. The King of Angels could be of interest back over hurdles after an unsuccessful spell over fences but more solid claims are held by Or Sing About, who ran much better at Worcester last time. Tony Martin's runners always warrant respect when they are sent over though and Oscar Jo looks well worth another chance today.
