In depth

Verdict

Lemington Lad has shown signs of ability but is proving to be expensive to follow and a better bet looks to be Benmore Boy, who gets the vote with Avant Gardiste rated the pick of the remainder. The selection stepped up on bumper form when making a winning debut over hurdles here last month and it is of interest that Henrietta Knight has turned out the son of Old Vic so quickly. No Supper has shown promise over hurdles and has to be of interest, while Nick Gifford's Quantique is another that is relatively unexposed but probably needs to improve to trouble the judge. A market move for Optic would be of some interest but more solid claims may be held by David Pipe's Avant Gardiste, who has shown improved form over hurdles of late. Benmore Boy has shown progressive form of late though and he is taken to make a winning debut over the larger obstacles.
