In depth

Verdict

One Nation has rather harshly been raised 17lbs since his win in a selling hurdle at Uttoxeter last month and David Pipe's gelding looks best watched now, with preference for Blaze Ahead who gets the vote ahead of Hello It's Me. The last mentioned had to work hard to win a beginners' chase at Cartmel on his most recent start when beating the perennial bridesmaid Stagecoach Opal so he may be best watched. Chery D'or has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated and is hard to recommend on recent form, while Whizbang would need to improve on the form shown on his debut for Jonjo O'Neill to take a hand in the finish here. The vote then goes to Blaze Ahead, who was a narrow winner here last time but Brendan Powell's gelding seemed to idle in the lead that day and there should be more to come from the eight-year-old.
