A very moderate contest can go the way of Balmoral Queen ahead of Needwood Spirit, Ask The Umpire and Prairie Law. Balmoral Queen is one of just a handful here with winning form to her name this season, her sole success coming at Uttoxeter in December when she beat Prairie Law on heavy ground. The latter reopposes on four-pound better terms but will do well to make up the eight-length deficit, having finished tailed off at Huntingdon last time. In contrast, Balmoral Queen was still going well when falling at the ninth flight at Taunton three weeks ago, and should go close off her current mark. Needwood Spirit gained his first victory in four years when landing the poorest of sellers at Fakenham last time and the veteran has more to do, while Ask The Umpire, although successful here in the past, has it to do with Prairie Law on Uttoxeter running. All in all, we prefer to side with Balmoral Queen in a race that will take little winning.
