Fox Covert can continue David Barker's dream season although Headland, Fly More and Toppling all hold formbook chances. The Barker story this term has been an incredible one with his sprinters dotting up around all four corners of the British Isles. Fox Covert is not short of early pace and while faster ground would have suited better, the fact that he has drawn twenty should ensure that he gets first use of the favoured rail position. Headland has the talented Serena Brotherton in the plate. David Chapman's charge does not visit the winners enclosure too often but he wont want for handling and should have few problems with the trip. Fly More has another useful rider booked. He appears to handle any surface although any overnight rain would not go amiss. He is joined by Toppling, who has dropped over two stones in the handicap since the heady days of 2003 when he was in the mid-60's. Kalista's Pride has been the model of consistency this summer for connections. The draw has been far from kind. Good old Sharp Hat appears to reserve his best for Southwell's all weather track while Sharoura is another with ability but is difficult to win with. Of the remainder, Petite Mac - who has gone well for girl riders, should be staying on in the finish. Fox Covert has pace and the draw and we will not oppose.
