Aahgowangowan can defy a penalty over True Magic, Pay Time and Safranine in an open contest. This will be no easy task for Aahgowangowan, but the seven-year-old has really found her form of late, and is taken to add to her recent victories at Chester and Ayr. She fairly bolted up at the Scottish track last time, beating Obe Bold by five lengths, and so hopes are high that she can shrug off a 6lb penalty to prevail. True Magic was only nabbed in the shadows of the post at Carlisle last time when trying to give weight to the winner, and looks set for another bold showing here. He can make a race of it with the selection as can Pay Time. The latter has been running over seven furlongs though, and this drop back in trip might be a slight negative. Safranaine was in good form earlier in the season but has gone off the boil just a bit, while Petite Mac has started to struggle off his new mark. All in all, despite carrying her fair share of weight, Aahgowangowan has plenty going for her.
