Plenty to consider in what promises to be a more interesting maiden than first glance might suggest. RAQEEB is taken to make a winning debut for Ruth Carr with Touch Tone, Jemima Nicholas, Nimue and Barreq all considered. Raqeeb is rated clear of Touch Tone and Nimue so has obvious claims as things stand but Ruth Carr has done really well with her acquisitions from top yards and the 35,000 guineas purchase may well improve for the change of scenery. Touch Tone's course and distance second has been given a boost by subsequent efforts from the winner but she does look to have her quirks. Barreq, Fork Lightning and Jemima Nicholas qualify for handicaps after today and may be best watched but they've done enough to think that they won't be long in winning whilst Swiftly Done is no forlorn hope. Ardent is related to winners as one would expect with fellow newcomer, Premier Contender, of particular interest being a brother to the yard's smart sprinter Buachaill Dona but Raqeeb sets the standard and gets the vote.
