Million Per Cent has to be on the shortlist after a good second at Lingfield last time. He was staying on well at the finish and must go well but conditions here will be totally different. River Falcon ran respectably at Musselburgh last time but seems to be on the decline, a remark that also applies to Absent Friends. The locally trained Hiccups is one to consider. He ran well on a couple of occasions before disappointing on his final start of last season. Off the course since that run in August, his performance is best monitored. Zarzu is the selection. He is well drawn, unlike a number of his leading rivals, is race fit, and is in good form, having chased home The Lord at Musselburgh last month. Zarzu gets the vote.
