Verdict
Dispol Isle is in cracking form of late and can add to last week's Pontefract success here, with last-time scorer Tri Chara and course specialist Efidium others with chances. The selection was successful over a stiff mile at Pontefract on soft ground, but does act on a fast surface, so conditions here will be no problem. A 4lb rise should not be a major problem and she looks the one to beat. Getrah was a heavy ground Ripon winner last summer but has since joined Noel Wilson from William Haggas and until he has come back to some sort of form then he is passed over. Tri Chara won over 7f at Wolverhampton last time, stays further than this and acts on a fast surface, so can go close again from this mark. Efidium has two c&d wins to his name, one of which came from a higher mark than this. However, that was four years ago and despite being able to compete from this mark he may again struggle to win. C&d scorer Esoterica has conditions to suit but needs the handicapper to relent, while the same applies to locally trained Angaric, who is a capable sort but has to give weight away all around. The pick here then is Dispol Isle.
