A handicap that doesn't look the most competitive on paper and it may be worth chancing Messiah Garvey to be too good for Alexander Huricane and Dorn Dancer. The selection is in decent enough form, having not been beaten far over 7f last time, when trying to make all. He was still in front at the furlong pole there, so this first ever attempt at 6f, with first-time headgear might be just the thing he needs, and with Adrian Nicholls picking him over the yard's other trio plus bottom weight there are a number of clues that could lead to success. Alexander Huricane has been in really good form throughout his career so far, with three wins and as many seconds from six starts. This is his first try over this trip on decent turf going, but his sire acted well on it and he still looks likely to be very competitive from this mark of 71. Flores Sea won a small handicap on the fibresand last time but does have c&d winning form and from a mark just 1lb below today's, so he should be in the shake-up. Dorn Dancer acts on any ground and comes from the in-form David Barker stable, and he is very consistent. However, he is now 10lb higher than his last win and keeps going up for defeats, so he may again have to settle for the frame. Dasheena is another good enough to make a play for the minors again, while Winthorpe probably needs a drop in the weights, and the suggestion here for what we hope might be a bit of value is Messiah Garvey.
