Bertiewhittle was just beaten in a ladies’ race at Ascot last week, ahead of Theodorico, but is on a long losing run. Shouranour won in a lower grade at Ripon last month but has scored here in the past while Saint Equiano was just beaten at Beverley after winning at Carlisle and is only 2lb higher. SAKHEE’S RETURN missed the break at Doncaster last time so it was no surprise that he couldn’t quicken when challenged having got to the front. But Tim Easterby’s charge has dropped to a very fair mark and could take some pegging back if getting away on terms today. Burnt Sugar wouldn’t be out of this on his best form and Muirsheen Durkin also has claims.
