The David Chapman string have been running with plenty of credit of late and, as such, the fairly-well-drawn Paddywack is selected over Tayif and Mister Mal; with Playful Dane another to consider if there is any support for him in the betting ring. However, Paddywack, who has dropped to 6lb lower than his last winning mark, comes here in good heart after going close at both Beverley and York recently and need only run up to that sort of level to figure prominently here. Tayif and Mister Mal are both in decent form at the moment and should not be too far off the speed if they run their usual races. But, as neither has really been noted for consistency, there has to be a suspicion that they will find at least one too good. Tally, who edged a thriller at Newcastle on Wednesday, should also be capable of getting involved in the shake-up but he has a little to prove with Tayif and is a risky proposition for win only purposes. Mark Polglase's change is also no stranger to Chapman and, as he has numerous good lines through the likes of Soaked, it could be prudent to stick with his representative here and give Paddywack and Tony Culhane another chance in a race that could be set up to suit the partnership as things unfold.
