A trappy handicap in which the in-form Katiypour gets the vote ahead of recent Redcar winner, Encounter and Yenealed. The Nigel Shields-owned gelding produced his best effort for some time when finishing second at Redcar last week and if similar tactics are utilised here, he looks to have a fine chance of going one better today. Encounter owes nothing to connections and rarely runs a bad race. He was all out to score in lesser grade at Redcar but it would not be a complete surprise if he were good enough to take this higher graded race. Similar comments apply to Yenealed who has the services of the leading Northern pilot, Fergal Lynch this evening. Haulage Man has the services of Kevin Darley on his seasonal reappearance. The combination of Eddy and Darley have landed plenty of gambles in the past and they must be watched in the market. Top Dirham, Mexican and Unshaken were decent handicappers some time ago but none of the trio have given too much encouragement to punters of late. Yorkshire Blue won a seller at 25/1 last time out. He is better than selling grade but is yet to convince at handicap level.
