Little strength in depth to a moderate opener and the tentative vote goes to Des who is taken to open his account while Easy Rider, East Riding and Rosti look the main dangers. John Quinn's charge appeared to show much improved form for the step up to this trip last time when finishing a creditable runner-up in a Southwell handicap last time and this unexposed type sets a fair standard. Easy Rider seems better at this sprint trip rather than further judged on a close third in a similar heat at Brighton last month. Mark Johnston continues in fine form at present so East Riding shouldn't be discounted despite cutting little ice in handicaps of late while Rosti is held by the selection on Southwell form but is entitled to show improvement for the outing and can close the gap on this occasion.
