In depth

Verdict

Former high class staying hurdler Garruth has yet to show the same level of form over fences but appeared to be gaining in confidence last term and there should be more to come from this likeable type. The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding scored twice in novice company last season including a bloodless display at Sedgefield in April and reappears off a handy mark so earns the TEAMtalk vote un er ace pilot Ruby Walsh. Atavistic faced some stiff tasks in Grade 3 company on his final two starts last term but had previously shown a consistent level of form at a slightly lower grade and is fairly treated on the pick of his form so should go close if fit for his return. Mothers Help is a thorough stayer who jumps well and won nicely at Market Rasen earlier in the month but will find this tougher off a 6lb higher mark. Lanmire Tower has proved disappointing, including in a first-time visor, since his fortuitous Cheltenham novice victory in April and is readily opposed.
