Ceresfield has taken time to settle in but should now pay to follow against some uninspiring opposition including Kety Star and Thunderpoint. A winner in New Zealand, Richard Guest's mare opened her account on these shores at Hexham in April but was slammed 12lbs by the handicapper. She has paid the penalty since, but got back to winning ways at Cartmel when put back into novice chase company and does not have a lot more to do here. Kety Star was lucky to collect at Newton Abbot as North Of Kala was going better when taking a fatal fall two out. As for Thunderpoint, he is better over fences than hurdles so will appreciate being back over these bigger obstacles. However, his form is definitely nothing special and he will do well to stave off the challenge of Ceresfield who is the one that they all have to beat.
