With the going now in his favour, Soyuz is selected ahead of Donizetti, San Antonio, Binanti and Marinas Charm in an open event. The Michael Jarvis stable have been in great form this season and Soyuz looks all set to add to the tally, now that the rain has come. A Leicester maiden winner in soft ground last year, the son of Cadeaux Genereux ran well when second at Haydock in atrocious conditions the time before last, and was third on faster ground at Epsom last time when dropped back to seven furlongs, the distance of today's trip. Donizetti was a useful juvenile but we would have preferred him to have had a prep run. San Antonio in contrast has been busy of late, but looked a bit one-paced when chasing home Tiber Tiger at Newmarket over a mile. The drop back is not sure to suit as he is a full-brother to the Lincoln winner Pablo. Binanti won over the course and distance as a two-year-old, and ran well against older horses at Warwick, but connections will not be pleased with the amount of rain that has fallen. mark Johnston won this event last year with Takes Tutu and now relies on Marinas Charm, who, unlike most of her stablemates, has yet to visit the winner's enclosure this term. However, she did score in testing conditions at Doncaster in November and may run into a place. For the winner though, we return to Soyuz.
