Verdict
Noble Minstrel is set to go up in future handicaps but was a comfortable winner at Fontwell on Thursday evening and Jim Best's gelding is hard to oppose here under his penalty, getting the vote ahead of Don't Be Bleu and Medic. The last mentioned showed improved form at Wetherby last month and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close here. Mister Chatterbox is less exposed than most of these but does need to improve to trouble the judge. Jomelamin comes into this having won his last two starts and has to be respected but an 8lb rise for his recent success at Wetherby is a shade harsh and he may be best watched. Don't Be Bleu has claims on the form shown when successful at Huntingdon at the beginning of last month but a subsequent disappointing effort at Newton Abbot is of concern and preference is for the well-handicapped and in-form Noble Minstrel.
