Pepporoni Pete is not as good as he once was and a better bet may be Jazz Dance, who gets the vote over Desert Lover. The last mentioned comes into this in good form having won each of his last two starts, at Ludlow and here at Stratford, but this is tougher off his new mark so he may be best watched. Lord Baskerville won well enough at Sedgefield last time but a 7lb rise for that seems harsh and he faces no easy task giving weight away all round. Paul Blockley's Moon Star struggled off his new mark when well held at Aintree last time, while David Pipe's Go Solo has yet to fully translate his flat ability over hurdles. The vote then goes to Charlie Mann's Jazz Dance, who was good value for his recent success at Southwell and he is taken to defy the 12lb rise for that victory.
