Mrs Philip ended last season with a victory and can kick of this campaign with another success, Herne Bay and Nifty Roy could be the main dangers. The Philip Hobbs trained six-year-old had not run for 109 days but that did not stop her responding in ultra game fashion to her rider's urgings to beat Royal Prodigy in a tight finish. She is only penalised a couple of pounds for that success and a follow up looks on the cards. Nifty Roy on the other hand has been raised fifteen pounds for a recent handicap victory. However he did land that Sedgefield event by an easy ten lengths and there could be more to come. Herne Bay caused a bit of a surprise when landing a competitive event at Uttoxeter last time and should go close today despite top-weight. Mick Fitzgerald is an eye-catching booking for Meadow Hawk, who may improve with this step up in trip, but Mrs Philip still looks on a winning mark and gets the vote.
