Not a race that will take much winning and this appears a good opportunity for Wainwright to open his account. The lightly raced ex-Irish performer stepped up on previous efforts on his British when a close second of 15 in a field of useful maidens at Doncaster last week. Sure to be sharper for the experience and with the extra furlong likely to bring further improvement, he looks the one to beat against some moderate rivals. Gerard Butler's Jazz Messenger showed little on his debut over this trip at Lingfield in October and hasn't been seen since while Caronte has been struggling in low-grade handicaps off marks in the 50s and looks vulnerable. Royal Twist hinted at ability on the second of two juvenile starts but returns from an absence of over eight months and may need the outing.
