Lively Dessert, who has failed to complete in five of his last six starts over fences, returns to hurdling here but is difficult to recommend on recent evidence. More solid claims are held by On The Day despite him also having been pulled up on his most recent start. That was under very testing conditions and, back on a faster surface, Len Lungo's gelding can return to the sort of form that saw him finish a short head second to Tufty Hopper at Sedgefield. A reproduction of that effort should suffice in this company. Lord Lupin has claims on his best but is inconsistent, while Celioso from the in-form Sue Smith stable looks to be one of the yards lesser lights. The remainder looks distinctly moderate.
