Although just the five runners have been declared for this novices' chase none of the quintet can be ruled out completely. Glenfarclas Boy has tended to find at least one too good and will probably do so again here, while Salvage needs to improve a few pounds to take a hand. More solid claims are held by Hallyards Gael. Formerly with Mary Reveley, the son of Strong Gale makes his debut for trainer Len Lungo here and, with ground conditions to suit, has to be respected despite a three month absence. Recent Ayr winner Mohera King is another to consider, although Ferdy Murphy's gelding would prefer a softer surface, and we prefer to side with Devil's Run. The son of Commanche Run stayed on well when winning a Sedgefield handicap last time and a reproduction of that effort may suffice here.
