Rookie trainer Paul Blockley has made an excellent start to the campaign and has sound claims of adding to the tally with Blue Emperor. The son of Groom Dancer shaped promisingly on his debut in a similar contest at Doncaster last week, finishing to good effect to reach the frame having been out paced during the early stages. This deeper surface should suit ideally and, with the experience behind him, he should prove hard to beat. Sir Ernest showed plenty of pace when a close third in a valuable conditions event at Lingfield on Winter Derby day and should give another good account if handling this slower surface while newcomer Amber Legend makes plenty of appeal on breeding and could easily be good enough to make an impact at this level.
